Grasslands & Grid Roads runs at the Art Gallery of Regina from May 20 to July 31, 2027, featuring works by Heather Cline and Eric Powell. Heather Cline's Viewfinder project, created in partnership with the Nature Conservancy of Canada, explores personal and collective connections to stories and experiences written on the land, including those of settlement and agriculture, using painting, video, and sound to create immersive landscape experiences. Eric Powell's Listener's Guide to the Saskatchewan Grid Road Map is presented as a gallery listening station offering an immersive sonic journey through Southern Saskatchewan's grid roads, blending field recordings with both traditional and unconventional instruments including trombone, glockenspiel, organ, hurdy-gurdy, and hand-cranked siren. Together, these works create a complex and multisensory experience of the Saskatchewan landscape, inviting audiences to rediscover the familiar and deepen their connection to place.
