Following the Second World War, Government House was transformed into a convalescent home for returning veterans, serving as a place of recovery and rehabilitation from 1945 to 1957. Join us for a special Remembrance Week talk at Government House featuring guest speaker Dr. Jeff Keshen, President and Professor of History at the University of Regina, who will speak on the experience of the veterans upon return from the First and Second World Wars. Holding a doctoral degree from York University with a research concentration in the history of war and conflict, Dr. Keshen has authored or edited nearly 20 books, written approximately 30 peer-reviewed articles, and received numerous awards for his military history writing. No fee or registration required.
