Our all-Canadian, world-class entertainment for this year’s tour includes fiddler Ashley MacIsaac, comedian Bruce McCulloch, and singer-songwriter Carolyn Dawn Johnson. This event also includes a special presentation by Canadian Snowbird Association President Garry McDonald. Ashley MacIsaac is a world-renowned Canadian fiddler from Cape Breton, NS, celebrated for his fiery playing style, genre-bending creativity, and larger-than-life stage presence. Raised in a community steeped in Celtic tradition, MacIsaac began playing the fiddle as a child and quickly emerged as a prodigy, mastering the traditional Cape Breton sound while pushing it into new, uncharted territory. He broke into the national spotlight in the mid-1990s with his breakthrough album Hi How Are You Today? (1995), which went 3x platinum in Canada and earned him a Juno Award. The record’s hit single, “Sleepy Maggie,” became an unexpected mainstream success, showcasing his bold fusion of Celtic fiddle with rock and pop influences. Throughout his career, MacIsaac has collaborated with artists across genres—from Mary Jane Lamond and The Chieftains to David Byrne and Philip Glass—further cementing his reputation as an adventurous and innovative musician. Known for his technical mastery, foot-stomping energy, and unapologetic personality, he has been a key figure in bringing Cape Breton fiddle music to audiences around the globe. Today, Ashley MacIsaac continues to perform and record, carrying forward the rich traditions of his heritage while constantly reinventing how fiddle music can sound in the modern era. Bruce McCulloch is an actor, comedian, writer, and director, best known for his work with the award-winning sketch troupe, The Kids in the Hall, whose latest season aired on Amazon Prime Video. Bruce has two comedy albums: Shame-based Man and The Drunk Baby Project. On stage, he has written or performed several one-man shows including Two-Headed Roommate, Jazz Stenographers, Slightly Bigger, and most recently Tales of Bravery & Stupidity. His first book, Let’s Start a Riot was released by Harper Collins. Bruce has written and performed in Young Drunk Punk (a series inspired by his own life), Death Comes to Town, and This Blows (web series) also for C.B.C., and he created Carpoolers for A.B.C. He has directed such shows as Saturday Night Live, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Schitt’s Creek, and Trailer Park Boys. Bruce recently produced and directed three seasons of sketch series, TallBoyz, for C.B.C., as well as sketch series, The Dessert, for Crave. As an actor, he has appeared in numerous television shows including Saturday Night Live, Arrested Development, Gilmore Girls, Comedy Bang Bang, Workaholics, Nobodies, and even Anne of Green Gables. Bruce has also written and/or directed several films including Dog Park starring Luke Wilson, Superstar starring Molly Shannon and Will Ferrell, Stealing Harvard starring Jason Lee, Leslie Mann and Tom Green, and Comeback Season starring Ray Liotta. Carolyn Dawn Johnson scored her first chart-topping hit as a songwriter when Chely Wright took “Single White Female” all the way to #1. The success led to publishing deals and cuts with several other artists. Johnson was named Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year in 2000 by Music Row, and has continued to carry that title well as one of the town’s most loved and respected tunesmiths around. After inking a record deal with Sony’s Arista Nashville in 2000, Johnson produced music of her own with the release of her debut album, Room With a View. The critically-acclaimed project spawned the Top 5 smash “Complicated,” as well as hit singles “Georgia” and “I Don’t Want You to Go.” Additional albums include Dress Rehearsal (2004), Love & Negotiation (2006), and Love Rules (2010). Johnson has garnered such elite titles as the Canadian Country Music Awards’ Producer of the Year in 2004 and 2009. She has also been awarded 17 C.C.M.A.s, including Female Vocalist of the Year 5x, as well as being crowned the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Female Vocalist in 2002. The American Music Awards hailed her as Favorite New Country Artist the following year. You do not want to miss this show!
